R & A Roofing & Sons LTD recently completed a comprehensive roof restoration project on a property in Tenterden, Kent, covering both the main house and garage.
The work began with the removal of moss from the roof surfaces, followed by the application of a roof sealant coating across the complete house and garage. This helps protect the roof coverings and improve their resistance to the elements.
We installed new GRP fibre valleys and replaced the felt and battens beneath the valley areas. New dry ridge systems were also fitted to provide a secure and durable finish along the roof ridges.
At the front and rear verge ends, new felt and battens were installed, along with new undercoats. The existing tiles were then reinstated, and the verge ends were re-cemented to leave a neat, weather-resistant finish.
The lead flashing was re-fixed using lead mastic, carefully redressed and reinforced with fibreglass. Any broken tiles and ridge tiles were replaced where necessary, and all guttering was cleaned out to ensure effective rainwater flow.
