R & A Roofing & Sons LTD recently carried out a comprehensive roof renovation and roofline upgrade for a property in Bexhill, East Sussex.
The project began with carefully stripping off the existing tiles to expose and inspect the underlying timber framework. We installed a replacement joist to reinforce structural integrity, followed by brand-new breathable felt and treated battens across the roof area.
To modernise the gable ends, we fitted low-maintenance UPVC bargeboards and installed secure dry verge caps, paired with a modern dry ridge system along the top of the roof. All original tiles were thoroughly cleared of moss before being reinstated neatly onto the new framework, providing a fresh, durable, and completely mortar-free finish.
Work completed:
Complete strip-off of existing roof tiles
Structural timber repairs, including installation of a new joist
Installation of new high-performance felt and treated battens
Full moss removal and cleaning of original tiles
Precise reinstatement of the roof tiles
Fitting of low-maintenance UPVC bargeboards
Installation of dry verge caps and a dry ridge system
Completed in Bexhill, East Sussex
This thorough overhaul has restored the roof’s structural strength, improved ventilation, and provided a clean, modern, and weather-resistant finish built to last.
